    You can see how uneven the pleats are in this video. Using a comb make of a slippery material with a rounded back is NOT the best way to make pleats. It's easier to cut a piece of thin cardboard to the needed size and use that because it's flat and not slippery so the fabric will stay put. And when making knife or box pleats, use the tines of a fork to keep them the same size.

    How about some ideas for the cut-off legs?

    • @HelloSewing
      @HelloSewing День тому

      I have some. A potholder or a coaster. Or you can sew the cut part, box the corners and voila - a fabric basket for various bits and ends or for your plants

    Would a casserole dish fit in this carrier? Thank you so much for the video - can't wait to make one - I might even add insulbrite to it.

    • @HelloSewing
      @HelloSewing День тому

      Yes, it fits! I just tried my pyrex 9 x 13". But in that case I would leave a larger gap in the middle as a casserole dish is longer than a pie dish and it would be easier to fit it in the carrier.

    I usually always hate tutorials with music, but not this one. Not only is this the video that showed me how to make a dog collar, I actually watched it so much that I learned the words to the song. My singing still sucks but I can make an awesome collar for my dogs. Thank you

      Just a straight stitch for the hem and zig zag or overlock stitch to hem the raw edge

    Hi. Thank Machine foot that you’re using I didn’t realize for a long time, but if that’s the one with the spring on the side, it’s actually made to go over those seams. As soon as your foot starts to tilt. Level it with your finger and press the spring button to lock it level. It will release as soon as you get over the thick seam.

    Thanks I have 3 pairs of pants I want to cut off and make shorts, two have some stretch, do you have suggestions on how to hem without getting the flair out at the bottom on stretch material? I've tried lengthening the stitch and using stretch stitches but it still doesn't look good.

    • @HelloSewing

      You need some kind of stabilizer. I would try a water soluble stabilizer -the kind that is used for embroidery. Or you can use a walking foot

    Do your own hand measurement because those numbers are not accurate for everyone. For instance my pinky out to thumb is 10 inches...

      Approximately...

    • @HelloSewing
      @HelloSewing 12 днів тому

      These are not exact measurements by any means, just a quick way to get the approximate measurement of something
